Trump Says Iran Allowed 10 Oil Tankers To Cross Hormuz As A“Present” To The U.S

Iran let 10 oil tankers transit the Strait of Hormuz this week as a ‘present’ to the U.S, per U.S President Donald Trump.

“They said, ‘To show you the fact that we’re real and solid and we’re there, we’re going to let you have eight boats of oil … and they’ll sail up tomorrow,’” Trump said during a Cabinet meeting.

He added, “They then apologised for something they said, and they said, ‘We’re going to send two more boats.’ And it ended up being 10 boats.”

Trump claimed this after he insisted in the meeting that America is engaging in negotiations and substantial talks with Iran, even though the latter has denied this.

U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said in the Cabinet meeting that many countries in the region have offered to play a mediating role between Washington and Tehran so that the war may end.
